Terminology:

Mesh - means the free distance between the load-bearing bars and / or between cross bars.

Pitch - means the axial distance between the load-bearing bars or between cross bars.

Bearing bars - are the bars that support the loads, which must always be the ones that sit on the supports.

Crossbars - connect bearing bars at prescribed dimensions.

Free opening - It is the net distance between the supports in the direction of the bearing bar.

Cut-outs - Represents that area of the grating removed to avoid an obstruction.

Banding bars - They are welded around the grating or cut to the edge and make the grating stable and safe for handling.
